POLICIES FOR THE RESERVATION AND CONFIRMATION OF THE INCA TRAIL
Regarding the confirmation of your reservation for the Inca Trail, it will be confirmed after checking the available spaces in our reservations area with the offices of the Ministry of Culture in Cusco and you will be notified immediately via email or through our link info@unotraveler.com
NOTE: Our clients must provide us with their correct information in the reservation form, confirming their information through a message, which our sales staff may reconfirm up to three times (This is because the reservation process for the Inca Trail is too strict and fragile at the same time).
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ALL TOURS THAT INCLUDE THE INCA TRAIL

However, before or during the trip, unforeseen events or prevailing conditions may arise, forcing us to make changes or modifications to a Tour, Trip, Service or others.

In the event that we find ourselves in situations like this, the client will be notified immediately as soon as possible. Having options for acceptance.
Very important
We recommend that you arrive in Cusco 48 hours or more before the start of your service, as from time to time we have to leave earlier than scheduled in the event of strikes or other events beyond our control (see the “Force Majeure Reasons” section).
We highly recommend spending time in a high altitude area (above 3000 meters / 9842 feet, in Cusco or another high altitude area) for a minimum of 3 to 4 days before setting out on your trip. This is to minimize the possible effects of altitude sickness. Additionally, you can help your body acclimatize by drinking plenty of fluids, adding a little extra sugar to your drinks, eating carbohydrate-rich foods, avoiding cigarettes and alcohol, and drinking coca tea (ancient traditional leaf).
FLIGHTS AND AIRLINES
Uno Traveler Peru emphasizes that we have no control over international or national airlines, and their schedules may be modified or flights delayed for reasons beyond our control. We will do our best to ensure the smooth flow of all your transportation connections, but it is your responsibility to verify the exact flight times and reconfirm. Pick-ups and transfers for your flights can be reorganized at short notice. Uno Traveler Peru does not accept responsibility for the consequences of missed flights due to the client not reconfirming schedules.
Flying to Latin America involves long flights and may require changes at other airports. It is your responsibility to arrive at the departure airport at the appropriate time (2 to 3 hours for international flights and 2 to 1 hour for domestic flights in Peru).
Modifications to flights and airfares will be the sole responsibility of the passenger.
TRAINS TO MACHU PICCHU
Train tickets are non-refundable. Train tickets are usually booked for departures between morning and evening, this is always subject to availability. For passengers travelling independently, requests for alternative schedules will be considered but are strictly subject to availability. Passengers travelling with a group cannot request alternative train schedules. Once issued, train tickets are valid for the dates and times specified. Some changes must be made strictly at the train station due to fare restrictions. Changes may be subject to local charges, fees and fare increases.
We do not control seat assignments, which are entirely at the discretion of the railway companies. Once train tickets are issued, they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
UNSATISFIED CUSTOMERS
If a client has any complaints about their trip, they must communicate this as soon as possible, directly to the guide or travel assistant so that the necessary modifications can be made immediately. If the problem remains unresolved and the client requests a refund, they must write to us no more than 30 days after the last day of the trip. Uno Traveler Peru will attend to the case as quickly as possible.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR THE INCA TRAIL, PERMITS ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE, NON-REFUNDABLE AND DATES CANNOT BE CHANGED.
We do not control seat assignments, which are entirely at the discretion of the railway companies. Once train tickets are issued, they are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
AUTHORITY DURING THE TOUR
At all times, the decision of the guide or our company representative shall be final in all matters that may endanger the safety and well-being of the tour group. The client must at all times strictly comply with the laws, customs, foreign currency and drug regulations of Peru. If the client fails to comply with the above, or if the client interferes with the welfare of the group, the guide or company representative may order the client to leave the tour without recourse to any refund.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
The client must be in possession of a valid passport and all visas required for the entire trip, and the client accepts responsibility for obtaining these. Any information or advice given by the company regarding visas, vaccinations, climate, clothing, luggage, special equipment, etc. is given in good faith but without liability on the part of the company.
We will purchase your Inca Trail trekking permit using the passport numbers you send us with your trekking reservation request. You must bring these same passports with you to Cusco and take them with you on the Inca Trail. If the number on your passport is different from the number on the travel permit, you will not be allowed to start the trip by government authorities and you will not be entitled to a refund.
If a client is claiming a student discount, they must bring a valid International Student Identification Card (ISIC) on the trip. The card will be verified at the start of the trek by government workers and failure to provide a valid card will prevent entry to the Inca Trail and no refund will be offered. Clients will not be offered the opportunity to pay the difference between a student and standard travel permit as government regulations prohibit this.
Failure to bring the required travel documents will be considered as a cancellation of the trek by the client (see sections above). Government regulations DO NOT provide the option to purchase a new travel permit with a new passport number , even at full price.
FACTORS BEYOND THE COMPANY'S CONTROL - Force Majeure Reasons
The company will use its best endeavours to minimise the effects of matters outside its control but cannot accept any liability or additional associated costs, whether directly or indirectly, for matters including political disputes, industrial action, unpredictable weather, road blockades, landslides on the Inca Trail, problems with the railway between Aguas Calientes, Ollantaytambo and Cusco, delayed trains, changes to minimum wages etc. To avoid planned strikes on certain days of the year the group may have to leave for the trek earlier than the scheduled departure date, for which the company will contact its passengers immediately.
Uno Traveler Peru will not be responsible for costs associated with unused or partially used accommodation services due to these reasons of leaving for the trek or tour before the scheduled date. Failure to agree to leave at that earlier time/date will be considered a trip cancellation by the client. If all or part of the Inca Trail or Machu Picchu is closed due to Force Majeure reasons, then Uno Traveler Peru will make every effort to provide an alternative trek itinerary which may or may not include a visit to Machu Picchu. Unfortunately, the trek deposit and the balance (if paid) will not be refunded to clients; on the other hand, if the trek is cancelled due to Force Majeure reasons and/or the client decides not to participate in an “alternative trek”, Uno Traveler Peru will provide its clients with appropriate documentation so that clients can claim a refund from their insurance companies.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is the responsibility of the client to obtain sufficient personal travel insurance. The client is willing to accept full liability for the insurance up to such limits as the client may require. This insurance must cover personal accident, medical expenses, air ambulance, loss of effects, repatriation costs and all other expenses which may arise as a result of loss, damage, injury delay or inconvenience to the client. It is mandatory for all clients to have personal travel insurance. When obtaining travel insurance, the client must ensure that the insurer is aware of the type of travel to be undertaken.
MEDICAL INFORMATION
You must inform us of any medical problems or allergies you may have. You must be in good physical health and, if your health is in doubt, you should consult a doctor. If you are over 70 years of age, you must provide us with a current medical certificate of good health.
You are responsible for assessing whether a Tour is suitable for you. You should consult your doctor to confirm your fitness to travel and participate in the intended activities. You should seek your doctor’s advice regarding vaccinations and medical precautions. The tour operator does not provide medical advice. It is your responsibility to assess the risks and requirements of each aspect of the trip based on your own circumstances, limitations, physical condition and medical requirements.
Uno Traveler Peru reserves the right to deny you permission to travel or participate in any aspect of the trip at any time and at your own risk when the tour operator determines that your physical or mental condition makes you unfit to travel or that you represent a danger to yourself or others.
Pregnancy is considered a medical condition and must be disclosed to the tour operator at the time of booking. The company may refuse to transport women who are more than 24 weeks pregnant. The tour operator may refuse to transport anyone suffering from certain medical conditions if reasonable accommodation or alternatives cannot be arranged.
It is highly recommended to purchase travel insurance to protect yourself in case of a medical emergency or trip cancellation
