What is the difference between the Luxury Inca Trail and the Classic Inca Trail?

The Inca Trail is just one route; the Classic Inca Trail and the Luxury Inca Trail follow the same path, but the campsite locations are different. The Luxury Inca Trail will allow you to stay in an exclusive campsite along the Inca Trail with comfortable equipment and gourmet food. Additionally, during the Luxury Machu Picchu trek, all services are upgraded to luxury.

What equipment is provided on the Inca Trail?

During the Inca Trail with luxury service Uno Traveler Peru includes the following items:

  • 4-person tents, for 2 people or couples.
  • Air mattress with sleeping bags
  • Blankets, pillows, sheets and bedspreads
  • Hot shower
  • Portable and private toilets
  • Luxury dining tents with all the implements

We carry everything during the 4-day Inca Trail tour, including tents, air bed, sleeping bags, portable showers, and portable toilets. It is possible to find toilets and cold-water showers at specific campsites. However, we do not recommend them due to the number of people using them every day.

Passport Requirements

To enter the Inca Trail, an original passport is required. If you wish to visit Machu Picchu, you must also bring your original passport. The passport number must match the same number that you booked your tour with. If you have changed or renewed your passport, you must bring a copy of the old passport, or you must carry both. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Peruvian territory.

The Inca Trail is one of the most epic hikes in the world. It is also one of the most challenging hikes to Machu Picchu. Hikers should be in moderate physical condition.

The Inca Trail is doable; all hikers should prepare or train before coming to trek at high altitude.
