PISAQ: This unforgettable experience begins with assistance at your hotel and then you board the bus to the Pisac Archaeological Park, 32 km northeast of Cusco City at 2,790 meters above sea level (9,151 feet). On the way we will stop at the Taray viewpoint where we will delight in the impressive view of the river and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After taking some photos we continue our tour to the Pisac Archaeological Park, where our professional guide from Uno Traveler Peru will explain to the group the history and function of this important ancient Inca site, composed of agricultural terraces, food warehouses, religious and sacred enclosures and many others.

SALT MINES: After exploring the beautiful area of Moral, the staff of Uno Traveler Peru will take you to the surroundings to the Maras Salt Mines located 50 km northeast of the city of Cusco at an altitude of 3,200 meters above sea level (10,496 feet) the salt mines are still used since pre-Incan times and have now become a very important resource for the communities in the area. Upon arrival at the place our Professional Guide from Uno Traveler Peru will give a detailed explanation of the entire process of how salt is obtained, which is generated from an underground water stream to fill thousands of wells and through the process of solidification and gasification leaves pure salt crystals, which will be marketed in local and international markets.

MORAY: The Moray Archaeological Site is located 50 km northeast of the city of Cusco at 3,500 masl (11,480 feet) on a high plateau just west of the town of Maras in the Andes of Peru. Moray is considered one of the largest agricultural laboratories of the ancient civilization of the Andes of South America. Here they managed to obtain different varieties of potatoes, corn and other grains to then be cultivated in the immense agricultural areas of the entire territory of Tahuantinsuyu. Here they also managed to domesticate some plants and flowers for domestic, medicinal and religious uses. Well, this is your best option to know and visit Moray. Our Professional Guide from Uno Traveler Peru will give you a beautiful description of this charming Inca Site.

OLLANTAYTAMBO: The Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park is located 80 km northeast of the city of Cusco, at 2,790 masl (9,151 feet) in the Sacred Valley in southern Peru, known as the Living Inca City, because many of its homes, streets and other types of buildings are still intact from ancient times. Uno Traveler Peru takes you on a tour of the archaeological part of this charming town made up of agricultural terraces, ceremonial fountains, sacred enclosures and astronomical observatories. After enjoying these beautiful places, it will be time to board our tourist train that will take us to the town of Aguas Calientes (2,040 masl / 6,692 feet) at the foot of Machu Picchu and the banks of the Vilcanota, for a pleasant rest.

What is the climate like in Peru?

The climate in Peru is extremely varied depending on the region you visit!

Peru has a wide variety of climates due to its proximity to the equator and tropical influences, along with the high altitudes of the Andes Mountains and the strong currents of the Pacific Ocean. The country is generally divided into three main geographic regions:

Coast – The main characteristic of the coast is dryness – it is mostly desert, but a desert with mild temperatures, and plenty of humidity. Light rain falls for a few months of the year, but generally the coast is covered by a heavy fog coming in from the sea, which brings a lot of fog over the land and often a feeling of cold. During the summer months (December-April), the fog disappears and temperatures can exceed 30ºC, especially in the north.

Sierra – The Andes have two distinct seasons – the dry season with its sunny days from April to October and the rainy season between November and March. Daytime temperatures do not fluctuate much throughout the year, but nighttime temperatures in the dry season often cause severe cold due to frequent frosts above 3,500 m (11,500 ft). Most tourists choose to visit during the dry months. The climate varies greatly depending on altitude. In general, the mountain climate is wild and unpredictable at any time of year!

Amazonas – A tropical climate with two seasons – dry and very hot between the months of April to October and a high heat season between November and March. High humidity is present throughout the year.
