Difference between Lares Trek and Inca Trail

There are some key differences between the Lares Trek and the Inca Trail.

  • Lares Trek is a shorter and easier hike; you can visit local villages and interact with children. You can find beautiful Andean lakes where llamas and alpaca’s graze.
  • Inca Trail is a longer trek and takes 4-5 days. This is a porter-only trek where you can find beautiful natural spaces and ancient Inca sites.

Difference between Lares Trek and Salkantay Trek

When it comes to choosing a trek to Machu Picchu, there are many factors to consider. But one of the most important decisions is choosing between the Lares Trek and the Salkantay Trek. Both treks have unique benefits, so it’s important to choose the one that’s right for you.

  • Lares Trek is shorter than Salkantay Trek, but it could be a challenge. This is because Lares Trek takes place at a higher altitude, which can be difficult to handle for some people. But if you are up for a challenge, Lares Trek is an amazing experience. You will get to see some of the most beautiful scenery on this trek, and you will also get to meet some of the local people who live in this remote region of Peru.
  • The Salkantay Trek is longer than the Lares Trek and more challenging. However, this trek takes place at a lower altitude after the third day, making it easier to manage for most people.
