ITINERARY

CHINCHERO: Uno Traveler Peru takes you to the Archaeological Park of Chinchero, in the Andean meadows, at a distance of 30 km northeast of the city of Cusco, located at 3,750 masl / 12,300 feet. It has a set of agricultural terraces, houses, warehouses, ceremonial centers and sacred enclosures. Considered the ancient capital of potato production, here a group of women of indigenous descent will give us a demonstration of the production and elaboration of textiles with ancestral techniques and supplies, the same ones that are used to make different garments, here the locals also proudly practice the ancestral language of the Incas, Quechua.

MORAY: Archaeological site located 50 km northeast of the city of Cusco at 3,500 masl (11,480 feet) on a high plateau just west of the town of Maras in the Andes of Peru. Moray is considered one of the largest agricultural laboratories of the ancient civilization of the Andes of South America. Here they managed to obtain different varieties of potatoes, corn and other grains to then be cultivated in the immense agricultural areas of the entire territory of Tahuantinsuyu. Here they also managed to domesticate some plants and flowers for domestic, medicinal and religious uses. Well, this is your best option to know and visit Moray. Our Professional Guide from Uno Traveler Peru will give you a beautiful description of this charming Inca Site.

Upon arrival at the site, our Professional Guide from Uno Traveler Peru will give a detailed explanation of the entire process of how salt is obtained, which is generated from an underground water stream to fill thousands of wells and through the process of solidification and gasification leaves pure salt crystals, which will be marketed in local and international markets.

Difference between Lares Trek and Inca Trail

There are some key differences between the Lares Trek and the Inca Trail.

  • Lares Trek is a shorter and easier hike; you can visit local villages and interact with children. You can find beautiful Andean lakes where llamas and alpaca’s graze.
  • Inca Trail is a longer trek and takes 4-5 days. This is a porter-only trek where you can find beautiful natural spaces and ancient Inca sites.

Difference between Lares Trek and Salkantay Trek

When it comes to choosing a trek to Machu Picchu, there are many factors to consider. But one of the most important decisions is choosing between the Lares Trek and the Salkantay Trek. Both treks have unique benefits, so it’s important to choose the one that’s right for you.

  • Lares Trek is shorter than Salkantay Trek, but it could be a challenge. This is because Lares Trek takes place at a higher altitude, which can be difficult to handle for some people. But if you are up for a challenge, Lares Trek is an amazing experience. You will get to see some of the most beautiful scenery on this trek, and you will also get to meet some of the local people who live in this remote region of Peru.
  • The Salkantay Trek is longer than the Lares Trek and more challenging. However, this trek takes place at a lower altitude after the third day, making it easier to manage for most people.

OPTIONAL WALKS:

  • Hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain: Huayna Picchu Mountain is the mountain that can be seen in front of the Inca citadel at 2,720 meters above sea level. Its route is through a very steep and narrow Inca Trail path and takes approximately 40 minutes to the top where you can have an incredible view of the entire Inca city. If you want to access this beautiful place you can explore it after your tour of Machu Picchu. For this purpose you must make an advance reservation and the cost is $ 75.0 per person.
  • Hike to Machu Picchu Mountain: Machu Picchu Mountain is the highest peak of the Inca citadel at an altitude of 3,082 meters above sea level. Its route is through a less steep and wider Inca Trail path, to reach this point it will take you approximately one hour, at the top there is a viewpoint from where you can have a wonderful view of the Inca citadel and part of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. If you want to access this beautiful place you can explore after your tour of Machu Picchu. For this purpose, you must make an advance reservation and the cost is $ 75.0 per person.
  • Hike to the Inca Bridge: This hike is optional and you do not need to make a reservation. Getting to this point will take you about 30 minutes and is not included in the tour.
